Terms of use
Effective 2026-05-21 · CondoBylawCheck · operated by Home Health Solutions Ltd
1. Acceptance
By using CondoBylawCheck (the "Service") at condobylawcheck.ca, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Home Health Solutions Ltd("we", "us"), an Alberta corporation.
2. Educational use, not legal advice
CondoBylawCheck is an educational tool. The analysis it produces is informational only and is not legal advice. We are not a law firm and using the Service does not create a solicitor-client relationship. For advice about your specific situation, consult a lawyer licensed in your province.
Markers, gap detections, percentile bands, and any other classifications shown by the Service reflect patterns identified by automated analysis. They are not a legal opinion about the validity, enforceability, or fairness of any bylaw clause.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to:
- Only upload bylaw documents you have the right to upload — typically your own corporation's bylaws, or bylaws you have lawful access to as an owner, board member, prospective buyer, or other authorized party.
- Use the Service for non-commercial, educational, board-preparation, and personal decision-making purposes.
- Respect the per-IP rate limit. Automated or scripted use that bypasses the consent gate or the rate limit is prohibited.
- Not use the Service to attack, scrape at scale, reverse-engineer, or otherwise interfere with its operation or the operations of any other user.
4. Your input remains yours
You retain all rights to the bylaw documents you upload and any optional context you provide. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content for the purpose of producing your analysis result and for the cross-border-transfer workflow described in our privacy policy. That license ends when we delete your upload (within 24 hours per our retention schedule).
We do not assert ownership over your bylaws, do not republish them, and do not use them to train AI models. Our processor (Anthropic) does not use API inputs to train its models by default; see our privacy policy for the full cross-border disclosure.
5. Comparison data from other Alberta condo corporations
To help you understand how your bylaws compare to common practice, the analyzer displays short excerpts from a benchmark set of Alberta condominium corporation bylaws. We treat the user's interaction with these excerpts as research and private study for the purposes of s.29 of the Canadian Copyright Act, and we design the display to support that purpose:
- Excerpts shown are short (typically 220 characters or less).
- We show them to a single user comparing them with their own document — we do not publish them as a stand-alone product, sell them as a database, or expose them outside the analyzer flow.
- Source corporation identifiers shown alongside the excerpts are pseudonyms; we do not display the legal name, address, or unit count of the source corporation.
- The excerpts are not, and are not intended to be, a substitute for retaining the services of the original drafter (or of any other lawyer) to draft, review, or amend bylaws for any specific corporation.
Takedown. If you are the author or copyright holder of a clause that appears in our comparison set and you object to its display, email info@homehealthsolutions.io with the clause excerpt and your evidence of authorship. We will remove the matching entries from the comparison corpus within seven business days of a credible request.
6. Analyzer output
We retain copyright in the analyzer's methodology, marker library, percentile engine, gap-detection logic, and the way analysis results are presented (UI, iconography, labels). We grant you a personal licence to use, save, and share the analysis result for your own purposes; commercial republication of analysis results requires our written permission.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the analysis is accurate, complete, current, fit for any particular purpose, or free from error or omission. Markers can have false positives and false negatives. Percentile bands are computed from a finite benchmark and may not reflect any individual circumstance.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Home Health Solutions Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents are not liable for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or otherwise — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including decisions you make in reliance on the analysis result.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Home Health Solutions Ltd harmless from any claim arising from your use of the Service, your upload of any content you did not have the right to upload, or your breach of these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or your use of the Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable in Alberta. The courts of Alberta have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
